Welcome to Mystic Meadows, where our passion for books, handcrafted coffee, and community intertwine. There are two owners, Savannah Livengood and Shannon Starling. To us this is more than a business, it's a dream born from a love of stories and a desire to create a warm, inclusive space for everyone. Join us on our journey to connect, create, and celebrate the magic of belonging.
Seasons of dreaming, building, and growing
Mystic Meadows grew out of seasons of dreaming, building, pausing, and starting again. We have both loved books for as long as we can remember and man, the feeling of making a cup of coffee just the way someone likes it and watching their shoulders relax after the first sip? Yes!
For a while, our path looked different than we expected. We tried building something that didn’t unfold the way we imagined, and that season taught us a lot! We had so much fun in the book and coffee community. Instead of clinging to something that no longer fit, we chose to step back, reflect, and ask: What kind of life do we want to build? What kind of space do we want to offer others?
Mystic Meadows is our fresh start, from scratch, but also from experience. From lessons learned. From a deeper understanding of who we are and what brings us joy! Our love language seems to be making something with our hands and presenting it to people with slow intentional love! Especially in a world that feels rushed and noisy. Our dream now is simple: to offer support to people who need it the most and to create a place where everyone can slow down, show up as they are, and feel welcome.
What makes mystic meadows special
Mystic Meadows is a community-rooted coffee and book space built for anyone and everyone! We make our own house syrups, buy locally roasted coffee beans, and serve beautifully blended teas from a local apothecary.
Our shelves are proudly led by independently published authors, alongside a carefully chosen handful of deluxe edition books that are traditionally published. We also carry one of a kind handcrafted collector books you won’t find anywhere else!
Mystic Meadows hosts a monthly book club with free drinks and treats as well as a tot story time with snacks and juice for our community!

Our mission: gentle connections, joyful moments
Our mission is to build a gentle, inclusive space centered around books, craft coffee, creativity, and connection here in Stokes County, North Carolina. We believe:
- reading should feel joyful, not like homework
- book clubs should be welcoming, even if you didn’t finish the book
- coffee is better when it’s shared
- handmade things carry love in them
- small gatherings can change people’s weeks
- local businesses matter deeply
- Tending to our bodies is an act of kindness
- every pronoun, identity, faith, and background are important!
Our focus is on investing in people, showing up for our neighbors in the Stokes County area, and becoming a place that adds something special to our corner of the world.
Mystic Meadows exists because we love this community and want to be part of it! not just doing business here but belonging here. This is our dream: a table full of mugs, well-loved books, laughter in the background, kids wandering in and out, and people leaving a little lighter than when they arrived!
